Active Directory
Active Directory is a way of building a single authentication system accross many computers, desktops and servers. In simple essence it is realyl just another application but one which handles the functions of authentication

Word
This is your basic word processor. Used for creating letters, banners and many other create documents.

Excel
Excel is an aplication that lets you build spred sheet. In some cases people use them as light weight databases.

PowerPoint
PowerPoint is an application from Microsoft which let's you build a slide show. Used mostely for meetings and demonstrations it's a great way to create a walk though of what you want to discuss

Access
Access is a great database application. It's the half way point between Excel and SQL. It's a great way to create a database without the heavy expence of a SQL server.

FrontPage
FrontPage is a great little program for helping you build very simple web sites. It allows you to connect to the server. From there you can drag and drop pictures into the right directories on your server or you can just pop them into the pages.

Visio
Visio is a graphical design application. It helps you create pictures or processes. Flow charts are the first of it's uses. You can build visual diagrams of your network or even organizing your furnature in your home.

Project
This is used to show work flow of a project. You start by listing and organizing all of the tasks of a project in a column and then helps you assign resources, time lines, dependancies and other types of variables. From there it draws out the project

Adobe
This is a great appliation for displaying documents. The easiest way to use it is to build your document in your favorite application and then print it to the Distiller Printer. This way you can univerally share your documents with less worry or problems
