About Tangent News Announcements Terralert partners with Ojo Technology

 Terralert partners with Ojo Technology

Ojo Technology and Terralert, Inc. signed an agreement and announced the launch of a combined development effort to provide a video surveillance system tied to a nationwide alerting system. Their combined vision is to put technology to work together towards making sure Americans stay safe and secure. By combining synergies, the two 21st century Silicon Valley startups hope to make America and the world a safer place in the dawning century. In an effort to combat the foreseeable homeland defense and security issues of this new millennium, the two organizations agreed to direct their combined efforts and resources on laying the foundation for, and developing, a centralized nationwide surveillance, monitoring and alerting system. Existing skills, knowledge and capabilities make their combined efforts ideally suited for becoming the premier first generation architect and provider of a centralized nationwide digital security system.

Ojo Technology has developed expertise in pure digital video surveillance and capture technologies. Terralert is an established provider of nationwide alerting and notification services, known as the Terralert National Alert Portal. Together they envision surveillance and alerting system that will locate terrorists, call emergency response personnel to duty, find missing children and record criminals in action. Combined, the technologies and capabilities hold great promise for aiding law enforcement, preventing terrorism, quickly identifying and locating suspects, wanted criminals, victims or missing persons. Digital video surveillance cameras capture information that can be processed and provide preprogrammed alerts and notifications which in turn trigger accurate and effective responses and actions.

The two organizations will pursue development that focuses on; corporations, and government agencies with video surveillance needs to allow their cameras to automatically upload images via FTP (File Transport Protocol) across the internet to the Ojo/Terralert centralized database. Once the video images are archived, they are scanned for preprogrammed criteria such as motion detection, specific object movement, parked vehicles, facial recognition, license plate recognition, object recognition, etc. Matches to search criteria trigger preprogrammed alerts and notifications via email, cell phone, pager, instant messenger or FTP. Essentially, the right people will always know right away when something important has happened or has been identified. Furthermore, Terralert can provide an interface for search criteria such as missing or wanted person alerts. Virtually any authorized person or organization could enter identification details of missing or wanted persons, and be immediately notified, in the manner of their choosing. When a trigger happens in front of any video surveillance camera functioning in conjunction with the centralized alert system first responder personnel can take action.

There are over 200,000 law enforcement agencies, emergency response, military and other public and private agencies with disparate information systems with a clear requirement for collaborating across organization and jurisdiction boundaries. Terralert feels that by integrating directly with the various agency systems, for example, those that police officers use on a daily basis to create the missing children fliers, we will be able to bridge their technology gap. Allowing for a wider area of coverage in a shorter period of time, on a variety of topics.

This Alert service is available to interested individuals today for free, by either visiting the Terralert web site at www.terralert.com and clicking on the subscribe button or by visiting the http://alerts.microsoft.com and logging in if you have a passport account or by signing up for a passport account.

“After all of the hard work and accomplishments, we wanted to take a moment to reflect and remember; there are many children whose disappearances ignited communities to stand up against this terrible crime; Amber, Polly, Levi, Crystal, Lick, Jeanne, Silva, Rachael, Maria, Malcolm and Morgan. Unfortunately, there are many children who have gone quietly into the night. Each child is precious. Each child is loved. And each child is missed.”
-Peter Barclay Co-founder, CEO
